Eagle Nest Kayak Adventure
Lodge Lobby
Looking for an adventure? Here is your chance to jump in a kayak and explore the waters beyond DeGray Lake by hopping on to the lower lake impoundment and wildlife management area! Navigate through a calm waterway cushioned between forest canopies, rich in biodiversity, with many opportunities for spotting wildlife along the way. Cap off an unforgettable experience by taking in views of an actual bald eagle’s nest perched high above the forest floor. Your guide will show you the basics of kayaking and answer your nature questions along the way. Flatwater kayaks, paddles, and lifejackets are provided, and no previous paddling experience is necessary. Be prepared to paddle approximately 2 miles (1 ½ hours). Participants must be at least 10 years old to paddle a boat solo. There is limited space available for children ages 6 to 9 to ride with an adult. Reservations are required and are taken at the lodge front desk beginning noon the day before, (501) 865-5850. Wear clothes and shoes that can get wet. Water and snacks provided, but feel free to bring your own! We will meet in the lodge lobby and then caravan/carpool 15 minutes to the lower lake area. There is limited space available for a few passengers to ride in the van, but be prepared to drive your own vehicle to the launch site. First come, first served. Please arrive 10-15 minutes early or your spot may be given to someone on the waiting list.
